Special Pilot Licence in AustraliaHempels Aviation Pty Ltd welcome enquiries from Overseas pilots to convert to a Special Pilot Licence in Australia. Overseas pilots wishing to hire Hempels Aviation aircraft, and who have an overseas licence must be aware of the following details pertaining to a conversion to a Special Pilots Licence.Clients will have to organise their individual country's Aviation Authority to contact the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (C.A.S.A.) to provide details for a Special Pilots Licence (SPL). This can be done by emailing the following C.A.S.A. contact. You will need to commence this process 4 - 6 months prior to arriving in Australia. South QLD Office Conversion to a Full Private Australian Pilot LicenceYou will be required to undertake a medical examination with one of the C.A.S.A. approved medical examiners, pass an "Air Legislation" exam and Private Pilot Licence (PPL) flight test before the licence can be issued. In all cases an aircraft flight review is required before hiring an Aircraft.The following aircraft are available for overseas hire: Cessna 172 (4 seats) - 110 knots IAS Cessna 182 (4 seats) - 125 knots IAS Piper Cherokee 140 PA 28 (4 seats) - 160 horse power - 110 knots IAS Aircraft hire rates can be viewed at this link Hire and Charter Price List. GST of 10% applies to all private hire operations. Landing fees and parking fees at individual airports will apply as well including a standard Archerfield Airport Landing Fee.
